100 Words – The Shy Girl

Tara R has very kindly let me know that she’s taken over the 100 word exercise from Velvet Verbosity. Thank you Tara!

The prompt is ‘Cat’

The Shy Girl

She was cat-like. That was the only way he could really describe it. She pawed at her food with her fork like she was playing with it. Her eyes darted around the room several times, watching everyone but avoiding everyone simultaneously. He wanted to talk to her. She was a mystery… But what could he say? She’d barely said a word. If they hadn’t introduced her, he wouldn’t have had a clue she even belonged there. She acted like an intruder who had been caught red-handed and was trying to blend in to pretend they were supposed to be there.
